I came upon the accident scene on Rimrock Road at Zimmerman Trail just before 8 p.m. on Friday (11/15) and couldn't believe what I was seeing. There was one truck with severe front end damage, and a body laying next to it.

Apparently, there was a second truck involved in the accident that happened around 7pm, according to KRTV. The accident occurred when a truck traveling west on Rimrock Road rear-ended a second truck at the Zimmerman Trail intersection, reports KRTV. When the man who was rear ended got out of his truck to check on the driver who hit him, he found the man in the other truck with a gun shot wound, according to the Gazette.

Rimrock Road was closed until nearly 9 p.m. on Friday night while Billings Police investigated the scene.

The BPD doesn't know if the self-inflicted gunshot happened before or after the crash, but they don't consider the death to be suspicious, according to the Billings Gazette.

We will update this story when more details become available.
