The Billings Gazette reports on what is described as a Constructive Conversation on “Can we realistically do anything about climate change?” to be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 24th at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church on 24th Street West in Billings.

The reported expectation for these conversations will have people assigned to groups of six — three answering yes to the question, and three answering no. With the guidance of a facilitator, each person has the opportunity to talk about their personal beliefs and feelings on climate change. The goal is to learn to listen to others who don’t share your viewpoint, and then to impart your own experiences in a safe environment.

There is no debate and no consensus is expected; instead, participants learn to communicate in a civil way about a controversial topic.
