Q2 reports that 52-year-old former Carbon County Commissioner Douglas Tucker pleaded guilty in District Court on Wednesday to an amended charge from felony theft to misdemeanor official misconduct. He was accused of unlawfully taking county-owned machinery for personal use, and was ordered to pay a fine–and prohibited from running for public office in the future– Tucker said he took the county-owned machinery, including several Bobcat attachments valued at over $9,000 for emergency needs.
