Chinese Media Covering Daines Visit to Beijing
Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) is making an official visit to China this week. He has, reportedly, already met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing.
Here's how the coverage is playing out in Chinese (likely state-controlled) media so far.
A delegation of US Congress officials has pledged to help reduce trade friction during a meeting in Beijing with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
The five-person contingent, led by Senator Steve Daines, stated during the meeting with Li on Tuesday that the US Congress is willing to promote the settlement of the trade dispute with China based on a win-win principal, China News Service reports.
Hailing the sound cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries, Li said China's NPC stands ready to work with the U.S. Congress to give full play to the exchange mechanism, conduct candid dialogues, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, strengthen in-depth understanding at different levels and promote cooperation in wide-ranging areas.
Daines said the U.S.-China relationship is of vital importance, expressing the willingness to do more work to boost mutual trust and bilateral cooperation.
