The Billings Gazette reports that the candidate field for Yellowstone County Auditor has been narrowed down to two, including Scott Turner, the county’s retired former finance director. Turner retired after serving 28 years with the county. He’s joined by Brock Ullom as the top two candidates from a committee who review six applicants for the job. Composed of Dan Schwarz, chief civil deputy county attorney, Dwight Vigness, human resources director, and Kevin Gillen a deputy county attorney, the committee made the recommendation on Monday to Yellowstone county commissioners, who are expected to interview Turner and Ullom on Dec. 11.

Meanwhile, the county investigated another complaint filed by retired Auditor Debby Hernandez. Billings consultant and former Mayor Richard Larsen was hired by the county on November 7th to mediate differences between Hernandez and finance department. She retired November 30th.
