The Billings Gazette reports that police are searching for a Montana Department of Corrections inmate who walked away from the Alpha House Pre-Release Center in Billings Saturday night.  According to a news release issued Sunday by Alternatives Inc., which runs Alpha House, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 23-year-old Tyler Lafranier of Billings, after he walked away from the facility at 9:49 p.m. on Saturday.

In 2015, Lafranier was convicted in Yellowstone County for criminal possession of dangerous drugs and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.  He arrived at Alpha House Aug. 7. Lafranier is a white man, 5-foot-10 and weighs 167 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.  Police said the public should not approach Lafranier because he is facing a 10-year sentence for felony escape.

Information concerning his whereabouts should be reported to law enforcement immediately.
