The YWCA in Billings wants you to know there is help available for victims of domestic abuse victims at the Y.  Those at risk are invited to learn more about the Reaching Every Woman campaign funded in large part by the St. Vincent Healthcare Mission Fund. The educational effort is intended to remind victims that the YWCA’s resources are there when needed to provide support.

An emergency shelter provides a place to stay for abuse victims and their children for as long as 12 weeks, and 24-hour telephone and text lines that victims can contact for help.  The Y also provides trained advocates who meet with victims of sexual violence in the Billings Clinic Emergency Department, while a sexual assault nurse conducts a forensic examination.  The YWCA has also added an in-house attorney to help victims with civil legal matters. They have already seen about 40 people for consultations.
