The never-ending battle over the price of fuel continues. but nonetheless, some are feeling some ease at the pump.

Billings has seen an average retail gasoline price drop 1.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.70 a gallon, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 81 gas stations. The national average apparently has increased 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $1.74 a gallon according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

The good news is gas prices in Billings during this past week were 38.7 cents per gallon lower than one year ago which is much nicer and are 9.0 cents per gallon lower than just a month ago. The national average has decreased 6.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 65.1 cents per gallon lower than one year ago.

Our neighbors seem a difference, too. Some up and some down. Here's how they are fairing if you're traveling their way.

  •  Idaho- $1.82 per gallon, down 3.2 cents per gallon from last week's $1.85 per gallon
  •  Wyoming- $1.63 per gallon, up 0.8 cents per gallon from last week's $1.63 per gallon
