The National Weather Service has posted that there is a sever thunderstorm watch in effect for the Billings area for the rest of today and tonight until 9 p.m.  The morning started out nice and cool.  Clouds quickly took over Billings skyline and the temperature reached the mid to upper 80's.

The severe thunderstorm watch according to the hazardous weather outlook attached to the latest weather statement says,

The primary hazards will be large hail the size of quarters to golf balls.  Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and very heavy rain.  The greatest risk of sever thunderstorms will last until midnight but the risk could linger paste midnight.

The counties affected in the Billings area are, Yellowstone, Musselshell, Carbon and Stillwater county.
