Earlier this year Sears Holdings said it had plans to close a large number of stores nationwide that were non-profitable. Unfortunately those stores were announced on Thursday (April 21st) and Billings is one of those store locations.

Kmart at 2424 Central Ave will join a list of other Kmart stores and a few Sears locations across the country will officially close it's doors in late July.

The company said that it made these decisions due to "comprehensive evaluation of the company's store portfolio that took into account historical and recent store performance, and the timing of lease expiration's."

A total of 68 Kmart stores and 10 Sears locations ranging coast to coast will feel these closures this summer.

There will be a severance for employees and they will be able to apply at other store locations that will remain open.
