MontanaFair is celebrating its 100th birthday by offering fairgoers the chance to buy a cold beer at the all-new Arena Beer Garden.

The Arena Beer Garden will be located inside the Rimrock Auto Arena and will be open for business beginning Aug. 11. This year's theme is MontanaFair #100YearsOfFun,

The stars of the grand opening are the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The other highlight of the Arena Beer Garden will be the introduction of different varieties of beer including microbrews.

This will be familiar terrain for the  Clydesdales as they've appeared at MontanaFair before, according to Ray Massie, marketing and sales director for MontanaFair.

Since starting as a gift to the American public with the end of prohibition in 1933, the Budweiser Clydesdales have traveled the country as ambassadors of the Anheuser Busch Company, according to a news release.

The Budweiser Clydesdale 2.0 Experience is a major enhancement of the standard Clydesdale event footprint. While maintaining the Clydesdales as the stars of the show, 2.0 adds dimension highlighting the pride and heritage in an engaging and exciting way, Massie said. Through video content, expanded signage and the addition of a digital component, 2.0 gives the consumer a deeper look into the history of the Budweiser Clydesdales, while simultaneously allowing them to become a part of the story

With the horses will be the Clydesdale Theater, a display of a replica of the iconic Budweiser wagon that carried the first beer after prohibition ended to president Franklin D. Roosevelt in the White House, and are hands-on authentic hitch driving lines and a Martingale, an ornamental piece once used to steady the horse's head.

"The Clydesdales are another part of something old (and) something new at this year's 100th MontanaFair," Massie said.

As a reminder, Massied added there are fewer than 30 days to buy a ValuPass for $59 for this year's MontanaFair.  ValuPass gives you everyday admission to MontanaFair, plus general admission to all rodeos, night time concerts, and the Supercross event at MontanaFair.
