Two people were arrested by Montana Highway Patrol after a vehicle pursuit in Billings on Sunday morning.  An MHP Trooper attempted to make a routine traffic stop for a broken tail light at 5:18 a.m. when the green Subaru sedan attempted to flee.  The pursuit, which exceeded 100 mph, began near St. Andrews Drive and Wicks Lane and lasted 21 minutes.

The occupants of the vehicle threw items at the MHP vehicle during the pursuit, including a hammer and a car stereo.  Spike strips were deployed but were not successful.  The pursuit ended near the railroad tracks on North 13th Street.

The driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.  He was arrested for an outstanding warrant and multiple other charges.  One of the female passengers who had an outstanding warrant was also arrested.
