President Donald Trump is bringing the midterm election circus to Great Falls at the Four Seasons Arena today, as Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester– directly targeted by the presidential visit– spent the Fourth of July in Butte and Helena telling folks he’s not that worried about Trump campaigning against him. In fact, he said he hopes the president sees more of Montana than just what’s within the perimeter of a Trump-style campaign rally. Tester told MTN News on Wednesday [quote] “I hope he comes and actually checks out some things like infrastructure needs, maybe go to some clinics,” [end quote] adding that it would be a great opportunity for him to see some of the challenges in rural America. Meanwhile, state auditer and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Matt Rosendale said he’s honored to have the president in his corner.
