The Associated Press reports, in the hotly-contested battle to represent Montana in the U.S. Senate, that Democratic incumbent Jon Tester, who won six years ago by the slimmest of margins, has defeated Republican state auditor Matt Rosendale. The AP projected Tester the winner with 94% of ballots tabulated and 224,361 votes, Tester received 49.3% to Rosendale’s 47.8%, or 217,345 votes. Libertarian Party candidate Rick Breckenridge has 2.9% of ballots cast. President Donald Trump personally campaigned in Montana for Republicans an unprecedented four times this year.
