My trash is taken to the curb on Monday night because the city picks it up Tuesday morning. America dumped some political trash three times this month.  Former Virginia Governor, Robert McDonnell was found guilty on 11 counts of corruption. Ex-New Orleans mayor, Ray Nagin, started a 10-year prison sentence for corruption and was ordered to pay $82,000 in restitution.California State Senator Roderick Wright was sentenced on eight felony charges, which included perjury and voter fraud.

In the process of supposedly “helping us,” some elected officials can’t resist helping themselves and public servants morph into public self-servants. “When politicians go bad,” isn’t just a lead-in to the Jerry Springer Show, it’s the history of the world. There have been corrupt public officials since the dawn of civilization. Unfortunately, it’s always Monday night and there’s always politician trash that needs taken to the curb.

I’m E. Curtis Johnson. Remember, when it comes to convicted public officials, there are no recyclables!
