The Gazette reports that a Billings man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after he apparently ran a stop sign in the city’s West End and crashed his car into the trailer of a semi. The as-yet-unidentified 20-year-old man had to be extricated from the Kia Sportage SUV by first responders after it had become partially lodged under the trailer, pushing the windshield and the top of the car back to the rear passenger doors.

The man was reportedly conscious and talking to medical personnel when he was taken by ambulance to the Billings Clinic. Billings Police Department Sgt. Shane Winden said he appeared to have broken bones and possible head injuries. The extent of his condition was not immediately made available.

The crash occurred just before 7 o’clock yesterday morning at the intersection of Daniel Street and Monad Road.
