After more than ten years of providing free mobile dental services to needy Montana children, St. Vincent Healthcare has announced they’re ending a partnership with the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.  As part of a global initiative, Ronald McDonald House Charities launched the Care Mobile in 2000 to boost health care access to low-income and uninsured children across the region.
St. Vincent officials said they ended the partnership in an effort to focus the hospital’s core services.  The decision also means cutting two part-time positions, a dentist and a driver.  While the Ronald McDonald House still owns the vehicle, St. Vincent took over full operation of the service several years ago, providing the funds and services to keep it running.  In the Billings area, it saw thousands of kids over the years and provided a wide range of dental services.  It had 2,500 visits from children this year.
