St. Vincent Healthcare’s Frontier Cancer Center will host a picnic on Saturday to honor cancer survivors and their families.  It’s being called the Celebrate Life picnic, and the free event is being held to pay homage to people who have battled or are currently battling cancer, as well as the people who care about and support them.  It’s also a chance to connect them with other cancer survivors.
Dr. Marty Lucas, an oncologist at the cancer center said the Celebrate Life picnic is a chance to honor patients and their families.  A barbecue, face painting, building tours, vendors and gifts for patients are all planned for the day, as well as a live radio broadcast with KCTR.  Lucas said they have this event every year to reminisce, remember and celebrate.”  The Saturday picnic is at the cancer center, 1315 Golden Valley View Drive, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
