Last week, Russian troops entered the Ukraine. Reuters reported a Moscow military source that claimed Russian forces entered the Ukrainian, “…by mistake.” Associated Press reports that Canada’s NATO Twitter account tweeted, “Geography can be tough. Here’s a guide for Russian soldiers who keep getting lost & ‘accidentally’ enter #Ukraine.”

The tweet includes a map designating “Russia” and “Not Russia.”  Russia counter-Twittered a map that includes Crimea as part of Russia’s territory. I’m not making this up! Wouldn’t it be great if in future wars, instead of soldiers killing each other, nations simply shamed each other on social media?

I’m E. Curtis Johnson and I predict the end of this Twitter war of words between Russia and Canada. Eventually, Russia will fire the social media shaming equivalent of nuclear war and tweet: #Canada: Justin Bieber is Canadian. End Tweet. There’s no recovery from that counter attack. Game over, Canada, we’ll miss you guys.
