The Tribal Prosecutor says evidence shows that a woman whose body was found on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in November was beaten to death.  33-year-old Whitebird Limpy has been charged with criminal homicide in Northern Cheyenne Tribal Court for the death of 41-year-old Julia Stump, who died of blunt force trauma, according to an initial charging document in the criminal complaint, filed on Dec. 7.

Tribal Prosecutor Calvin Wilson said he has made an initial court appearance and requested a jury trial, saying that Limpy killed Stump by beating her.  That conclusion is corroborated by the autopsy, which determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.  Stump’s body was found Nov. 12 outside Lame Deer, the day she is thought to have died.

The FBI is processing DNA evidence belonging to Stump, Limpy and samples from the crime scene, according to court documents.  Limpy was arrested and charged.  He was given a $10,000 bond
