Former Vice President Joe Biden is photo'ed above campaigning for Claire McCaskill in Missouri. He also campaigned for Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota.

While he was unable to help either of those incumbent senators survive their re-election battles, Joe Biden told a relatively small crowd in Missoula, Montana that he is "most qualified person in the country to be president." Talk about a profile in humility.

Here's the quote, via Fox News:

“I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president. The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that I’ve worked on my whole life,” Biden told a crowd in Montana Monday, according to the Missoula Current.

The former senator admitted he’s a “gaffe machine,” but contended he’s honest.

Gwen Florio added this for The Missoulian:

The former U.S. Vice President said he would announce within six weeks to two months whether he was running.
