Learfield sports announced this morning, June 9, that they had finished a national search for a new radio broadcaster and play-by-play voice for the Montana Grizzlies.

Although it was a national search, Montana native Riley Corcoran was the final pick, and managed to edge his way through over 100 finalists for the position.

A surprise to some Montana sports fans, Corcoran used to be an announcer and play-by-play voice for the MSU Bobcats.

“Riley is incredibly talented, and we are certain Griz Nation will embrace his great work and look forward to hearing him week in and week out over the airwaves,” said Tom Boman, vice president, broadcast operations for Learfield, UM Athletics’ multimedia rights holder. “We did not take this lightly. We conducted an exhaustive national search to determine the best candidate. We were fortunate not only to find the best talent but someone who has significant ties to Montana.”

Corcoran has big shoes to fill; he will replace veteran broadcaster Mick Holien, who just wrapped up a 31 year career as the 'Voice of the Griz.'
