The official IRS tax deadline will be here in twelve days. According to Montana Department of Revenue Spokeswoman, Mary Ann Dunwell, many Montanan's still haven't filed their individual tax returns.

"So far we have processed close to 300,000 individual tax returns," said Dunwell, noting that last year over 550,000 returns were processed. "We get a last blast of returns this last week and half before deadline."

Starting next Monday, the Department of Revenue will be expanding it's tax assistance call service hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Currently the call center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling (866) 859-2254. All calls are free and come with expert advise on tax conundrums.

Person-to-person tax help is also available. For walk-in service in Missoula, go to 2681 Palmer Street. So far, the Montana Department of revenue claims to have sent out over 100 million dollars in tax refunds. The average Montanan's refund totals roughly 400 dollars.
