Montana State placekicker Luke Daly was charged with domestic assault on Monday in Billings Municipal Court.  Daly pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge when he appeared before Judge Sheila Kolar.  Bobcats coach Jeff Choate announced Monday that Daly has been suspended from the Montana State University football team.

According to charging documents, police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Terry Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.  Officers were told that Daly had punched his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his son, in the face.  Officers observed an injury to the woman’s right eye, and Daly was then transported and booked into the Yellowstone County Detention Facility, according to court records.

Daly is an MSU junior from Billings Central.  He suffered an ACL injury during the offseason and missed spring practice.  He recently had surgery, but his availability for fall camp in Bozeman was in doubt.
