Montana’s Gas Prices Stay Stagnant as National Price Drops
The week of April 15 brings little relief for Montana motorists.
"Prices across Montana have inched ever so slightly higher, going up to an average of $3.34 per gallon," explained gasbuddy.com Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "That's an increase of 4/10 of a penny from a week ago."
The national average, now at $3.52, has been dropping for over a month, losing a nickle off its price in just the last week. Montana prices, on the other hand, have stayed stagnant.
Typically, Montana lags behind national trends by just a few weeks. DeHaan says that increased demand for Canadian and North Dakota crude may be leading factors in Montana's stagnant price.
On a happy note for motorists, prices in Montana are about $ .44 cents cheaper today than they were a year ago.
