MontanaFair is one  of the biggest events in the state, attracting an estimated 230,000 people eager to take in the thrill rides, rodeo, musical acts and once-a-year midway fair food.

The fun and excitement is sometimes eclipsed by the headache of finding a place to park.

With more than 3,400 parking spaces, MontanaFair has the largest amount of parking lot space in Billings. But with nearly 30,000 people at the fair daily, the space gets scarce rather quickly. Fair parking is almost all free and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This year, however, there is a way to make sure you can have the parking you want and have it waiting for you when you get to fair.

MontanaFair's premium parking lot to the north side of Bench Boulevard offers an easy way in and out of the fair. Access to the fairgrounds is via a safe tunnel passing under the roadway. You can get your one day parking pass in advance at the MetraPark box office for $10 per day. The number of premium parking spaces are limited.

Getting your pass in advance is the way to make sure you have an easy in, easy out day at MontanaFair.

If that's not appealing to you, do not forget that The Northern Hotel and Downtown Billings Alliance are teaming up to provide free shuttle service to the far. Check it out.
