According to a recent report from the Department of Transportation, Montana is one of the top states in the country for motorcycle riders.  With one motorcycle for every 21 people, The Treasure State has the 8th highest percentage of bikers in the nation.

South Dakota is the most popular state for motorcycles.  In addition to hosting the annual Sturgis Rally, one out of 12 people from South Dakota rides.  Wyoming also ranked among the most popular states for biking, with 19 people for every motorcycle in the state.

Statistics show that over 8 million motorcycles are registered in the United States; roughly one bike for every 36 people in the country.  Montana's latest figures show over 46,000 motorcycle registrations compared to population of just under 1 million.
