Thanksgiving is only days away, and although there is some snow in the weather forecast, gasbuddy.com Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says the forecast for gas prices is good for commuters.

"Prices are a little bit lower here in the last week, with prices declining about five cents a gallon down to $2.95 on average across Montana," DeHaan said. "That's down from last week, when prices were at $3.00 on average. Likely most areas will continue to see a gentle decline over the next week, perhaps more so in Montana than other states."

Prices are low in states to the east of Montana as well, but prices rise for those driving west.

"If your traveling through South Dakota, that is one of Montana's cheapest neighbors," DeHaan said. "As you go west, prices do tend to be a bit more. Washington's West Coast average about $3.09 a gallon. Quite a bit cheaper though in Eastern Washington, average prices around $2.70 in Spokane for example."

Right Now, prices in Montana are about a dime cheaper than they were at the same time last year.
