Montana Democrats finally have a candidate for the 2014 U.S. Senate race. This week, August 14, Dirk S. Adams announced at a Yellowstone County Democrats breakfast that he would be running for the seat currently held by Senior Senator Max Baucus (hat tip to Aaron Flint and the Flint Report for finding the resume passed out by Adams).

Adams has worked in the areas of banking and education (as a professor of business law), he is currently a rancher in Wilsall, Montana where he tends around 1,000 head of cattle. Adams is 62 and a political newcomer. In the past Adams has taught business law at both the University of Montana in the early 80's and at Montana State University in the early 2000's.

Adams campaign website, adamsjobs.com, indicates that the campaign will be focused on economic development. The website features slogans such as More Jobs Should Be "Made in America" and "Working" and "Poor" Should Not Be Words That Appear Together.
