An attorney for Montana’s University System, Viv Hammill, has told the state Supreme Court that releasing records of a rape case will prevent other victims of sexual assault from coming forward.

She’s WRONG.

It’s just the opposite. If sexual assault victims know there might be a backroom deal to protect a certain individual, they will be less likely to come forward. They will not want to risk embarrassment or humiliation by claiming rape or assault.
