A Missoula woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police found a car parked in the middle of a local street.

"At about 2:37 a.m. Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to the report of an adult female passed out in her vehicle in the center of the street near the intersection of Garfield and South 10th street West," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "As the officers arrived, the suspect either woke up, or otherwise became aware of her situation and was attempting to leave the area when she was pulled over by a responding officer."

After attempting to drive away, police found evidence that the suspect was intoxicated.

"Her name is Denise Spooner and she is 54 years of age, it appears that this is her fourth or subsequent DUI charge as this was a felony DUI," Welsh said.

Welsh says Spooner's car was moved to a nearby curbside after she was taken into custody. Spooner was released from jail later that same day.
