After reports of gunshots in Missoula early Tuesday Morning, Police responded to an apartment complex on the north side of town just after 12:22 a.m.

"911 received a call of shots heard in an apparent apartment building in the 1300 block of East Broadway," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "Several officers responded and identified the apartment where shots were said to have come from then they made contact with a family inside consisting of an adult male, an adult female and two small children."

When police arrived at the apartment they encountered 25-year old Johnny Allen Washee Jr. who was wanted for a parole violation for escape as well as a parole violation surrounding an assault with a weapon charge.

"There was evidence that a weapon had been fired in the apartment, however at this point the case is still under investigation by detectives that are trying to determine what exactly occurred there and also to speak to witnesses htat live in the building to find out what they heard or saw."

According to Missoula County Deputy Attorney Jason Marks, the county is considering a number of charges for Washee, including a host of endangerment charges as well as a charge of possession methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
