A man, granted clemency after 30 years in prison on a murder conviction, is accused of propositioning a 12-year-old girl.  The girl’s mother said Wednesday that Barry Beach sexually approached the child about two months after he was released from prison.

According to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Clair Kindness filed a report against Beach with the Billings Police Department on Jan. 13 and has spoken to officers twice since then.  Kindness doesn’t have legal custody of the girl.  The Yellowstone County Attorney will make the decision as to whether or not to file charges.

Beach declined to comment in a brief telephone interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday evening.  He reportedly picked up the girl on the night of January 10 while she was walking along a street.  Gov. Bullock granted Beach clemency in November after he served 30 years for the 1979 beating death of Kimberly Nees.
