Dustin Bushell has become well known to Missoula Police. In September he was caught and accused of selling stolen bikes out of a stolen truck, but later chose not to appear in court on felony charges.  According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, Bushell was spotted again on Wednesday evening.

"He was known by officers to have outstanding warrants for his arrest and last evening at about 6:20 p.m. officers saw him walking down the street near the intersection of Burns and Stoddard," Welsh said. "Having knowledge of his outstanding warrants, officers attempted to make contact with him, however after identifying themselves, he attempted to flee on foot."

Bushell ran through backyards to try to get away. Welsh says he tried to jump a fence and ended up getting stuck in a position that allowed police to bring him into custody.

"He was halfway over the fence and when they grabbed him, he began to kick his feet at the officers and when they were able to pull him back over onto their side of the fence, he physically resisted," Welsh said. "They then learned that he was also in possession of drug paraphernalia and a drivers license belonging to another person."

Bushell now faces 12 charges including Escape, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Theft. Eight of the charges are failure to appear charges from past incidents, which is surprisingly high, considering Bushell is only 23-years old.
