Montana’s three top candidates to replace newly-appointed Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke in the U.S. House of Representatives met on Saturday in their only scheduled televised debate before the May 25 special election.  Republican Greg Gianforte, Democrat Rob Quist, and Libertarian Mark Wicks were together in Great Falls for the contest.

Gianforte, who ran and lost in the race for Governor last year, and Quist, a musician, surprisingly selected by Montana Democrats over more seasoned elected officials, stuck to common themes of their campaigns of personal wealth, and who best represents the average person.  KTVQ.com reports that Libertarian rancher Mark Wicks of Inverness drove home the point that a vote for him is not wasted.  Gianforte emphasized his support for President Donald Trump – while Quist said he’ll be a strong voice for all Montanans. Absentee ballots go out today.
