The first major performer for the 2016 MontanaFair is Jason DeRulo, a pop music superstar, MontanaFair General Manager Bill Dutcher announced Tuesday morning.

“Jason Derulo is a multi-platinum recording artist whose videos has over two billion views worldwide on YouTube and is one of the top viewed performers in Montana," Dutcher said in a news release.

MontanaFair is the region's largest event, attracting about a quarter of a million people annually, according to the fair's website.

In the six years since ascending to superstardom, Derulo has sold and co-written more than 55 million of his own singles worldwide. His prolific writing includes hits for other A-list artists such as Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy and others. Derulo’s four acclaimed studio albums have eleven Top 10 singles (including four #1 singles on the Hot 100): “Whatcha Say,” "In My Head," "Ridin' Solo," "Don't Wanna Go Home," "It Girl,” “The Other Side,” “Marry Me,” “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle,” “Trumpets,” and “Want To Want Me," according to the release.

With more new music on the way later this year, Jason Derulo remains at the forefront of modern music, continuing to help shape the DNA of both urban and pop music, Dutcher said.

The 2016 MontanaFair begins August 12. ValuPasses to the fair includes all grounds and night show entertainment and are on sale now at the MetraPark box office. Individual show tickets go on sale May 6 at 10 a.m.
