I recently heard a caller on a radio talk show seriously advocate using the Ebola virus to stop the spread of ISIS in the Middle East. Fortunately, that is the first and only time someone on a radio talk show ever proposed a wildly disastrous idea. We have a hard time stopping conventional wars once they start. Good luck putting the bug back in the bottle! We’re not even lucky enough to have natural disasters wipeout wars. As a species we like to think we’re the masters of the planet. We can’t control who should and shouldn’t leave epidemic areas or ensure everyone follows the right safety procedures in hospitals. As human beings, we can’t even control our own paranoia about natural disasters and epidemics. It’s in our nature to panic about things we can’t control. Deadly epidemics should be taken seriously. It’s pointless to panic, so don’t be “that guy.” Relax! I’m E. Curtis Johnson. If you watch a movie to take your mind off the crisis, I’d recommend you stay away from Charlton Heston’s, “Omega Man” or Will Smith in, “I Am Legend.”
