Additional Information

RiverStone Health Diabetes Prevention will offer a year-long series of Lifestyle Change class sessions.  Participants in the hour-long class series attend weekly sessions for 12 weeks and then gradually shift to monthly sessions.  The first class starts August 30, 2017 and will continue on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 – 6:30pm for 12 weeks.  The program is offered at no cost, but spaces are limited with an August 18th registration deadline.  The series follows the National Diabetes Prevention Program model.

The classes are open to adults who are overweight and have one or more of these risk factors: pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglycerides, a family history of type 2 diabetes, having a history of gestational diabetes during pregnancy, or of delivering a baby weighing nine pounds or more.

Trained Lifestyle Coaches lead the supportive group classes.  In conjunction with the sessions, Billings Parks and Recreation is offering optional physical activity sessions.  Diabetes Prevention classes will take place in the Lil Anderson Center on the campus of RiverStone Health, 123 South 27th Street.
