Billings O.U.R. Team is helping to promote the Fight the New Drug presentation coming up in Billings!

West High School and Will James Middle School have teamed up to bring Fight the New Drug to their schools on April 27th and 28th, with a community & parent presentation on Thursday, April 27th at 6:30pm in the West High auditorium. Other schools in the area are also working to set up their own assemblies as we speak. Fight the New Drug is a non-profit organization that gives live presentations on the harmful effects of pornography in schools and universities throughout North America. Their science-based, millennial platform is an engaging and positive approach to educating kids on what has been an otherwise traditionally uncomfortable topic.

With the nation-wide school crisis of rampant sexting, sexual acting out, and harassment, Fight the New Drug’s message is extremely relevant, as far as attacking the problem at the root. An increasing number of young kids are getting involved with pornography, and many feel the destructive influence it has in their lives and yet they feel trapped and ashamed, with nowhere to turn. Pornography normalizes sexuality that is predatory, disconnected, violent, objectifying, and deviant. Ultimately, these perceptions give rise to a plethora of societal ills, including students who victimize and harass their peers, not to mention the rise in human trafficking. Fight the New Drug shares the truth about porn and provides effective tools for those who are already struggling with it. Please join us at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 27th, for the free community and parent assembly at West High School. Fight the New Drug’s message is for everyone. This is a particularly exceptional opportunity for parents to educate themselves on how to appropriately address healthy sexuality with their children in an open, non threatening, comfortable way.
