Yellowstone County election chief, Bret Rutherford reports that midterm voter turnout records were shattered by a count of more than 10,000 this year. The Gazette reports that by the time the last provisional ballots are counted next week, Yellowstone County will be looking at the highest voter turnout rate it has ever seen. The highest turnout for a midterm before this week’s election was in 2006 when the county tabulated 59,616 ballots. As of Wednesday, the county had processed 66,629 ballots.
