A Bonner man by the name of James Michael Brewer is now facing charges after being caught tampering with a urine sample. According to Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsch, 30-year-old Brewer was reported late on Monday.

"Just before 9:00 P.M., we received a report from Missoula probation/parole, that a client there had attempted to contaminate a urine sample with bleach," Welsch said. "Urinalysis is apparently a condition of his probation and he tried to disguise it or contaminate it in a way such that it wouldn't be usable."

Brewer is on probation for a 2014 Partner or Family Member Assault charge in which he was accused of choking his sister. Now, he faces even steeper charges.

"He was observed by probation officers and subsequently taken into custody for tampering with evidence, which is a felony," Welsh said.

Bond for Brewer was set at $10,000.
