A Billings plane that crashed near a small airport outside New York City, killing two crew members, didn’t report any problems to air traffic controllers up to a minute before it nosedived, according to a federal aviation investigator on Tuesday.  The Learjet, registered in Billings to A&C Big Sky Aviation, crash Monday afternoon in an industrial area near Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, damaging two buildings and causing a fire that burned 16 cars in a parking lot.  No one on the ground was injured.
The owners of the residential address where A&C Big Sky Aviation is registered are Daniel and Julane Wells.  The Billings Gazette reports that, during a phone interview, Daniel Wells said neither he nor his wife have a financial interest in the plane.  The flight voice recorder had been recovered and was being shipped to NTSB.
