St. Vincent Healthcare announced Wednesday the receipt of a $1 million donation from Tom and Joan Scott to help the hospital renovate its pediatric intensive care unit.  St. Vincent is in the midst of a fundraising campaign for a $2.3 million renovation and upgrade of its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, staffed 24/7 by nurses and certified pediatric intensivists to care for infants, children and teenagers whose conditions, illnesses or injuries are life-threatening and require extra care.

The St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation’s SAINTS Ball event raised a record $1.15 million for the project in October.  CEO and president of the foundation Dennis Sulser said this gift is a testament to the Scott’s ongoing commitment to the Billings community.  Tom is the former CEO of First Interstate BancSystem and the son of its founder, Homer Scott.  The hospital will honor the gift by naming the Tom and Joan Scott Pediatric Wing.
