The much-anticipated and long-delayed approval of the Dehler Park lease with the Billings Mustangs — along with several land use decisions– are on the agenda for the Billings City Council meeting today at 6:30pm in the council chambers at City Hall on North 27th St.  The Mustangs would get revenues for future naming rights and current electronic sign rights.

The Billings Gazette reports that one decision the council must make, after the Planning Commission came back with no recommendation following its 2-2 vote on April 4, is special review of an 80-foot-tall wireless communication tower proposed for 4135 Grand Avenue, property owned by the adjacent Lutheran Church.  According to a staff report by Planning and Community Services Director Wyeth Friday, NorthWestern Energy maintains “significant” overhead power lines nearby. The tower will ensure reliability of service for the wireless carrier.
