Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman issued a press release on Monday at 6:00 p.m. stating that at least 14 homes have been destroyed by the Roaring Lion Fire.

Hoffman said that he would not release the addresses of the effected properties and that the Sheriff’s Office was working to contact the homeowners. He asked residents of the area to call the Ravalli County Emergency Operations Center at 375-6650 for information regarding their property.

Hoffman said that the rapid evacuation made it extremely difficult to match properties and owners. He said that information regarding effected properties would also be available at the public meeting that was scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday night.

Hoffman said the Sheriff's Office is still not allowing people into the evacuated area, as the fire is still active,  and the area is expected to remain extremely dangerous for the next several days.
