A group, bankrolled by some of the country’s richest conservative power brokers, is mailing out 400,000 fliers across Montana attacking Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock.  Under the law, Americans for Prosperity- Montana doesn’t yet have to report its political spending.  The group funded by billionaires Charles and David Koch sent fliers out recently saying Bullock “turned his back on special needs children” by vetoing a bill that would have created an education savings account that a disabled child’s parent could use for education outside the public school system.

The mailer urges recipients to call Bullock or go to a website on school choice.  Bullock did veto the voucher bill, HB322.  He said he respected parents who choose to educate their children in non-public schools, but he wouldn’t subsidize that choice with public money.  The state’s Disclose Act would have required disclosure of AFP’s dark money spending after August 15.
